Food Security

Food security, as defined by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, "exists when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy lifestyle."

An experience-based program designed to bridge theory and practice in environmental studies. Through integrated classes, projects, field trips, guest lectures, and presentations, students work in the classroom and field as they integrate perspectives from the sciences, humanities, and social sciences in the study of local environments and communities.
